Used Crane Inspection Checklist
Use this pre-shipment used crane inspection checklist to verify critical systems before you buy a used truck, crawler, or all-terrain crane from China. We can share photos, video walk-arounds, and written findings, and arrange independent BV or SGS inspection on request.
Inspection Coverage
Our standard inspection request can cover the following nine areas. Final scope depends on the machine and buyer requirements.
1. Engine
Start test, idle stability, abnormal noise, smoke, visible leaks, coolant condition, and review of maintenance records when available.
2. Hydraulic System
Cylinders, hoses, pump and valve operation, visible leakage, movement checks, and load testing only when agreed and site conditions allow.
3. Boom, Jib & Structure
Boom sections, jib, welds, pins, sheaves, wire rope, hook, turntable, chassis, outriggers, and visible structural deformation or damage.
4. Cabin & Controls
Gauges, switches, pedals, joysticks, horn, emergency controls, rated-load chart, visibility, glass, and wipers.
5. Electrical System
Battery and starting condition, lighting, displays, visible wiring, emergency isolation, and electrical protection where applicable.
6. Safety Devices & Functional Test
Brakes, alarms, overload protection, moment and height limiters, interlocks, emergency controls, and agreed no-load or load functions when conditions allow.
7. Oil Leakage Check
Engine oil, hydraulic oil, transmission fluid, final drive oil, and coolant system — inspected for visible and active leaks.
8. Identification & Documents
Nameplate, model, serial number and stated year checked against available registration, technical, and origin documents.
9. Photo & Video Evidence
Available evidence may include exterior and component photos, start-up, idle, close-ups, and agreed operating demonstrations.
